FROM WATERBOY TO PRESIDENT
JUNIOR LEAGUE TAKE NEW DIRECTION Story By :
Congratulation to Mr. Peter Saville from the Cronulla Caringbah footy club on his election to President of the Cronulla Sutherland District Junior Rugby League.
Peter has been helping teams in the Shire for years including his own club Cronulla Caringbah, Sharks Deveolpment programs and is a well know face amoung both the kids who play the game and plenty of parents inside and out side of his club.
Peter is a brave man for putting his hand up to serve as Junior League President, which can be a challenging post for most of us. We wish you all the best in your new role.
We also congratulate the Junior League committee on elevating Mr. Saville to the Chair and we look forward to a closer relationship with the League in 2011 and beyond. |

CRONULLA CARINGABH U17A's MAKE IT 5 OUTTA 6
Story & Photo's By :
Here we are at the end of another footy season where there have been no loosers, just a few teams that didn't quite make the finals, well done from ourfootyteam to all players, coaches, staff and screaming parents for a most difficult season, it's all over for 2010.
Congratulations to all the 2010 Premiers on fantastic seasons
Cronulla Caringbah have won plenty over the years and added to that honorable list today with both the under 17 A & Under 17 B team winning this years flag, the Under 17A's in particular must be concidered one of the best clubs age sides in the nation.
Our footy team gets to see a lot of footy during the year, the Under 17A grand Final was one of the best junior rugby league games of this year with the reigning Premiers winning by the narrowest margins, 4 points, just 1 try over De La Salle Caringbah, which says alot for the quality of the De La Salle side which was close to folding 3 months ago. |

PRESIDENT SACKED AT JL MEETING
Story & Photo's By :
Last nights sensational Cronulla Junior League meeting the President Wayne Madden was sacked after a no confidence motion was passed.
Congratulations to the Clubs who proposed the no confidence motion, Wayne Madden must have known the writing was on the wall as he never bothered to turn up to last nights Junior League Meeting.
There is still some deadwood that needs to be cleaned out at the Cronulla Junior League with Mrs popular, Marie Withers high on the list.
Marie Withers has successfully alienated most of the families, players and administration officials for years. Marie must be wondering when her time is up as the sooner she has no more responsibilities at the Junior League the better for all of us, only then can we get out of the stone age we have been in since this administration began.
In other Junior League news from last night, there will be a few catch up games on Wednesday night at Barton Ridge, contact your club or coach to see if this affects you. |

THAT'S IT, NOW FOR THE FINALS
Story & Photo's By :
De La Salle Caringbah hosted the final round in the Under 17's comp today with both the A's & B's playing at home.
Sutherland were to good in the B's for De La running out winning 10 - 0 in a game full of mistakes by both teams. The difference in the 2 teams was Sutho' were keen to be there.
In the next game at Captain Cook Oval, the De La 17A's are coming good at the end of the season defeating a lackluster Engadine outfit who didn't play anywhere near to where they are capable of playing, De La won 33 - 6 which include a double to De La Skipper Reece Davidson
Across the road at Endeavour Fields, Gymea u17A's held a mighty 24 - 0 half time lead only to see it slip away in the 2nd half with the Sharks scoring 24 unanswered points to tie the game.
With the Finals kicking off next weekend, the comp is as open as it has been for years with all 4 teams in the A's and in the B's capable of winning the big one.
Good luck to all teams in all grades for the finals

ALL GAMES CANCELLED ON SATURDAY
THe Cronulla Junior League have again shown leadership by again cancelling all junior rugby league games today.

Sundays games are looking crook with a playing Decision later this afternoon. |
ROUND 10 U 17's WRAP
De la Salle played both Under 17 games home at Captain Cook Oval in round 10 and picked up the 2 competition points in each game.
The Under 17 B's game was a good one with both Cronulla Caringbah and De La Salle looking for opportunities to score.
De La were looking good scoring first in the second half to have an important buffa on the scoreboard to be awarded the game due to a tragic injury to the Cronulla Caringbah player.
We all hope you a speedy recovery
The Under 17A's game was interesting with the Gorilla's coming off a great win last week over Cronulla Caringbah.
In a good game of footy, De La and Gymea toughed it out for the full 2 halves and De La selebrated their 1st win of the season.
Both teams had good players, the ref was on the spot a couple times to see things didn't get too exciting and both sides played some entertaining footy
Engadine played good enough to defeat Cronulla Caringbah in the other U17a match |

Maybe if the JRL clowns came to a few of the games & saw the effect that missing footy has on the kids, they may just get some respect for what they do.
Please dont print my name as i am a coach at a Junior level & fear retribution from the JL. |
JUNIOR LEAGUE LET KIDS DOWN AGAIN
Story By : NAME & ADDRESS WITHHELD
Once again the Cronulla Sutherland junior rugby league have let the kids in the shire down.
The weekends of 29/5-30/5 & 5/6-6/6 have seen no footy played due to the weather and the state of the grounds.
In its wisdom the junior league has scheduled an A grade match (Jack Gibson Cup) and a couple of 21s games for Saturday 12 June. As such, no other games are to be played on the long weekend.
This is unbelievable.
As well as hitting every player with a $20 levy this year they are also restricting the number of games that the kids are able to play.
They don't schedule any games on the middle weekends of the school holidays for the juniors and don't seem to care if the number of games played are reduced.
Maybe it's time for the junior league to have a major overhaul and get people involved who have the best interest of rugby league and the kids that play the game at heart
The junior league executive and their contact numbers can be found on the sporting pulse website.
If you disagree with their decision not to play next weekend I encourage you to contact them |
